At CrossLife – a baptist church, we believe every person is created by God and deserves to feel safe, valued and supported. We are committed to protecting children, young people and all vulnerable persons across every ministry environment.
We promote a strong culture of safety and recognise the 10 Child Safe Standards and Universal Principle under the Queensland Child Safe Organisation Framework as essential foundations for child-safe practice.
CrossLife maintains robust Safe Church policies, training and supervision practices to ensure our ministries continue to be safe, transparent and accountable.
Our staff and volunteers strive to model Christ-like care in all interactions, showing respect, compassion and integrity, and creating environments where vulnerable persons’ spiritual, social and physical wellbeing is prioritised.

For Kids & Youth
At CrossLife, we want every child and young person to feel safe, respected, and valued. Here’s how we care for you and what you can do to stay safe:
1. Be Safe
1. Be Safe
- We all help keep everyone safe by listening to our leaders and following their instructions.
- Keep your hands and feet to yourself, use equipment safely, and follow safety rules during games and activities.
2. Show Respect
- Everyone is welcome at CrossLife.
- Respect means treating others kindly, listening, and including everyone.
- Each person is unique, important and loved by God.
3. We Listen
- Your thoughts, ideas, and feedback are important to us.
- Talk to leaders about what you enjoy, what you find tricky, or what you’d like to see or do to help shape activities.
4. Speak Up
- If something worries you, don’t keep it to yourself. Speak up!
- You can raise a concern about safety, behaviour, or something that doesn’t feel right.
- You will be taken seriously and supported.
5. Have Fun
- Church is a place to learn, grow, and enjoy being with friends.
- We encourage kindness, participation, and laughter in all activities.

For Parents/Guardians
At CrossLife, we are deeply committed to creating a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment for every child and young person. Our Safe Church Policy Suite outlines clear standards for how we protect, support, and engage with children across all church activities.
What We Do to Keep Children Safe
- Screening & Training: All staff and volunteers working with children undergo thorough screening, including Blue Card compliance, and complete Safe Church training.
- Supervision & Accountability: Children are always supervised by approved adult leaders. Leaders follow strict guidelines to ensure safe interactions and environments.
- Clear Boundaries: We maintain appropriate physical, emotional, and digital boundaries. Leaders never communicate privately with children without parent/carer involvement.
- Safe Spaces: Our programs are designed to be inclusive, respectful, and fun—where children feel heard, valued, and protected.
- Responding to Concerns: Any concerns, disclosures, or incidents are taken seriously and handled according to our reporting procedures, with care and confidentiality.
